Evan J. Giangrande, Ph.D.

Evan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of South Carolina, where he is affiliated with the Clinical-Community Psychology PhD program. He also holds an appointment in the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Evan earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Quantitative Psychology at the University of Virginia. He completed his predoctoral clinical internship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, followed by postdoctoral training at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School.

Evan's research aims to understand how inter- and intra-individual changes in psychological traits emerge from differences in genetic background, environmental context, and their interplay. He is particularly interested in examining longitudinal trajectories of psychotic disorders, cognitive functioning, and other complex traits across the lifespan using longitudinal, genetically informed designs.

Outside the lab, Evan enjoys getting out into nature, sports (baseball, basketball, and soccer), live music, and anything involving the ocean.
